The Sacred Heart Congregation was started in 1926 at Bettiah in Bihar by Bishop Louis Van Hoeck S.J. , Bishop of Patna. The sisters of the Sacred Heart devote themselves to education at any level, of the sick and orphans and social service according to the needs of the time and place. At present they are working in India and abroad.
